Former Churchill Show comedian Sammy Kioko has found himself in an emotional standoff with the Machakos County Government after camping overnight outside Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s office popularly known as the “White House” demanding payment for work and supplies he claims to have provided nearly two years ago.
Kioko, known for his humor and resilience, turned up at the county headquarters on Thursday morning carrying a placard and a backpack, vowing not to leave until his long-pending dues are cleared.
According to him, several attempts to seek an audience with Governor Wavinya have been futile, with his efforts frustrated by security personnel who barred him from accessing the office.
Speaking to reporters outside the premises, the comedian expressed deep frustration, revealing that he has been living in financial distress due to the delayed payment.

“I did my part, I delivered everything I was contracted for, but up to now, I’ve not been paid. I’ve been calling, visiting, and pleading, but no one is willing to help,” Kioko lamented.
He further disclosed that friends who had earlier promised to use their connections to assist him have since abandoned him, leaving him to fight alone. Kioko pleaded with Machakos residents and well-wishers to stand with him, saying he has “suffered enough” while waiting for what is rightfully his.
The county government is yet to issue an official statement regarding the allegations. However, Kioko’s public protest has sparked reactions online, with many Kenyans expressing solidarity and urging the Machakos leadership to address the matter urgently.
The incident has once again highlighted the plight of local artists and small contractors struggling to get paid by county governments across the country.
