Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale has broken his silence after being fired from his leadership position in the Senate earlier today, December 2, 2025.
The dramatic removal followed a communication from Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, who announced that the majority party had submitted an official letter outlining leadership changes within the House.
According to Speaker Kingi, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) senators convened a meeting in which they collectively agreed to replace Dr. Khalwale with Bungoma County Senator David Wakoli.

The move marks a significant shake-up within the ruling party’s Senate hierarchy, coming just days after heightened political tensions in the Western Kenya region.
Moments after the announcement, Khalwale took to his Facebook page to respond, posting a brief but pointed message that read, “Day in politics,” accompanied by a news clip reporting his dismissal.
His statement, although short, hinted at the unpredictable nature of the country’s political landscape.
Sources within the UDA Party indicated that Khalwale’s removal stemmed from allegations that he worked with opposition forces during the recent Malava Constituency by-election.
The senator is accused of supporting Seth Panyako instead of the party’s preferred candidate, a move that reportedly angered party insiders and triggered the leadership overhaul.
