The political landscape of Ol Kalou Constituency is reaching a fever pitch as two major political powerhouses, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), have officially slated their party nominations for the same day: May 9, 2026.
This unprecedented scheduling conflict has set the stage for what local analysts are calling a “battle royal” for the soul of the constituency.
In a formal notice issued by the UDA National Elections Board (NEB) Chairman, Anthony Mwaura (Ref: UDA/9/NEB/PNN/26), the party declared a vacancy for the Member of the National Assembly seat. The UDA registration window is strictly set between Monday, April 27, and Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Aspiring candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh 250,000 for general applications, while Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) benefit from a discounted rate of Ksh 125,000. Notably, the party has mandated that any public officer wishing to contest must resign by April 30, 2026.
