Kalonzo Appoints Nyali MP Mohamed Ali as Wiper Deputy Leader, Ndegwa Njiru Named Spokesperson
NAIROBI, Kenya — Former Vice President and Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced key appointments to the party’s executive team, designating Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali as Deputy Party Leader and appointing Advocate Ndegwa Njiru as the party’s official spokesperson.
Speaking at the Wiper Party headquarters in Nairobi on Friday, August 7, Kalonzo lauded Mohamed Ali’s commitment to fighting corruption, citing his background as a prominent investigative journalist and his legislative performance, where he was recently ranked among the top ten best-performing lawmakers in the country.
“Honourable Mohamed Ali brings a name that this regime cannot buy and will not intimidate,” Kalonzo declared. “That instinct to expose rather than conceal, to serve rather than extract, has not left him. As the Chairman of the Finance Committee on the Parliamentary Service Commission, Hon. Ali guards public funds with discipline.”

Kalonzo noted that Ali’s role bridges the Coast region with youth leadership across the nation who seek integrity over political patronage.
In addition, Kalonzo introduced High Court Advocate Ndegwa Njiru as Wiper’s first designated spokesperson—a new role created to amplify the party’s public voice. Kalonzo described Njiru as a legal advocate dedicated to defending ordinary citizens against arbitrary power.
Beyond party appointments, the Wiper leader addressed concerns regarding cohesion within the United Opposition, dismissing reports of fracturing. “Division is this regime’s only strategy.
Even if you see some disagreements between party leaders in the Opposition, please don’t take that very seriously. We are united,” Kalonzo emphasized.
Closing his press conference, Kalonzo raised concerns over statements by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Erastus Ethekon.
He cautioned that constitutional provisions allow election postponements strictly in specific zones facing security threats, not across the entire country.
