Kiambu County UDA leaders could be facing a tough political road ahead following a powerful declaration by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Speaking to a large crowd in Githurai today, Gachagua sent a clear warning to the ruling party’s leaders in the Mount Kenya region.
Addressing residents, Gachagua stated that the 2027 general election would be “do or die” for the region.
He urged voters to reject any candidates running under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and instead rally behind the Deputy President’s own party, the DCP.
According to him, this strategy is essential to ensure that the concerns of the region are finally addressed in Parliament.
Gachagua emphasized that with enough parliamentary numbers, Mount Kenya’s long-standing issues—including infrastructure, education, and economic development—would no longer be ignored.
