A major political signal could be emerging from Nyanza after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka made a strong declaration during his latest visit to the region, placing Nyanza at the centre of his political message ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The former Vice President said the meetings focused on the state of the nation and the challenges facing Kenyans after four years of President William Ruto’s administration.
According to Kalonzo, the country is facing serious economic and social difficulties, citing the rising cost of living, challenges affecting families and growing concerns among young people.
He also praised church leaders for what he described as their courage in speaking about national issues and urged them to continue providing moral leadership regardless of political affiliations.
Kalonzo emphasized the importance of truth, justice and the rule of law, saying leaders must remain committed to serving citizens with integrity and humility.
His visit comes as opposition leaders continue holding consultations and exploring political alliances ahead of the 2027 elections. Kalonzo’s message from Nyanza therefore adds another significant dimension to the rapidly changing political landscape.
He concluded his statement by saying that the road ahead requires courage and renewed commitment to changing the country’s direction.
“Nyanza is ready. Kenya is ready,” Kalonzo declared, while promoting the Ukombozi Alliance.
The statement is likely to generate fresh discussion about the role Nyanza could play in the opposition’s political strategy as leaders position themselves for the contest ahead.
