Gachagua said his team remains committed to its political programme and warned against taking Kenyans’ support for granted.
He argued that many citizens are seeking a different style of leadership, highlighting corruption, bribery, extrajudicial killings and what he described as selfish interests.
The former Deputy President said the coming 319 days would be critical as political formations prepare for the 2027 General Election. His remarks come as opposition parties continue discussions about cooperation and the possibility of presenting a joint presidential candidate.
Gachagua has repeatedly called for opposition unity, while his DCP has been expanding its grassroots activities across different parts of the country. Recent reports indicate that he has also entrusted Nyandarua Senator John Methu with important party responsibilities, including helping strengthen political mobilisation.
At the Ruiru engagement, Gachagua thanked residents of Discovery and Mwihoko for attending and listening to his team, led by Methu, whom he identified as the party’s secretary-general designate.
The message places greater focus on grassroots mobilisation as the political clock continues to run toward 2027.
For Ruto, the expanding activities of Gachagua’s political camp add another significant development to an already active pre-election landscape. Gachagua’s supporters, meanwhile, appear determined to maintain momentum as they prepare for the contest ahead.
