A fresh political message to Edwin Sifuna has opened another front in the increasingly heated 2027 election battle, with a senior ally of President William Ruto urging the Nairobi Senator to abandon Linda Mwananchi and work with the broad-based government camp.

According to People Daily, Omar told Sifuna that he could either work with the government camp or remain in the opposition as Ruto’s team moves ahead toward the 2027 election.
The message comes at a particularly significant moment for Sifuna.
Just a day earlier, Linda Mwananchi leaders held a retreat and formally endorsed him as their presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
The movement said its leaders had resolved to move forward together after weeks of speculation about internal disagreements.
Sifuna has increasingly positioned himself as a central figure in the emerging opposition landscape.
His Linda Mwananchi movement has already staged major political activities, including a large Nairobi rally in September that attracted thousands of supporters.
Omar’s intervention therefore places a fresh political choice before Sifuna just as his presidential campaign appears to be taking shape.
For Ruto’s allies, bringing more political figures into the broad-based government arrangement remains part of the wider strategy ahead of 2027.
For Sifuna, however, the latest invitation arrives after Linda Mwananchi has publicly placed its presidential hopes behind his candidacy.
His response could add another dramatic chapter to Kenya’s rapidly changing political landscape.
