Speaker of the national assembly Honorable Moses Masika Wetangula has been forced to rush home and save his political career. Wetangula who has dominated Western region politics for a very long time is now facing a threat to his political future.
Prior to the 2022 general election, Wetangula used to command two counties; Tranzoia County and Bungoma County. Anyone who went against his political position was sent to the political oblivion. Well, it seems like those days are long gone.
According to the video widely shared online, Wetangula has been seen pleading with the residents of Chwele Kabuchai ward to vote for the Ford Kenya party candidate Vincent Mutaki. He has claimed that it is only through the government which Ford Kenya is part of that people will get developments.

What has even shocked many is the fact that, he was flanked by all Ford Kenya party Leadership. Many have viewed the move as a desperate action to save his political career. Keeping in mind the independent candidate Eric Wekesa is being funded by Tranzoia County governor His Excellency George Natembeya and opinion polls are pointing at him to win the election.
If the independent candidate manages to take the Chwele-Kabuchai ward seat. Wetangula will have to do a lot of work to regain his trust among the Residents who have grown restless.
This is because the kabuchai member of Parliament Honorable Majimbo Kalasinga has managed to convince other people to go against Wetangula. A decision that has raised more questions on the ability of Wetangula to consult the region to back him in the 2027 general election.
