Winnie Odinga Cries Out, Tells Kenyans What Is Happening to Her Since Raila’s Burial
Winnie Odinga has come out publicly to address what she describes as mounting pressure and criticism following the burial of her father, Orange Democratic Party (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
In an emotional statement shared with Kenyans, Winnie claimed that her life has significantly changed since the events surrounding her father’s reported passing on October 15, 2025, and his burial four days later.
According to Winnie, she has increasingly found herself under attack from individuals unhappy with her recent public sentiments.
She alleged that since speaking openly after the burial, some people have deliberately targeted her, accusing her of being disrespectful whenever she expresses views that challenge certain sections of society.

Winnie stated that the criticism has gone beyond healthy debate, turning into personal attacks meant to silence her.
She maintained that her remarks are often misinterpreted intentionally, especially when she speaks about national issues, leadership, and the legacy she believes her father stood for during his long political career.
“Since my father’s death, not everyone is ready to hear the truth,” Winnie reportedly said, noting that grief has not shielded her from harsh judgment.
She added that some critics use her mourning period as an opportunity to undermine her voice rather than engage with the substance of what she says.
Despite the backlash, Winnie remained defiant. She vowed to continue speaking her mind regardless of public opinion or the consequences that may follow.
She emphasized that her resolve is rooted in values she says were instilled in her by her father—courage, honesty, and standing firm for one’s beliefs.
Her remarks have sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some expressing sympathy and support, while others insist public figures must be ready for scrutiny. As the debate continues, Winnie Odinga insists she will not be intimidated into silence.
