National assembly speaker Moses Wetangula has finally taken action after Kasipul member of Parliament Honorable Charles Were was killed by armed assailants.
Ong’ondo, the second term member of Parliament elected on the Orange democratic Party was killed by a gun man. The suspects are currently being held by police officers after being picked from various locations in Nairobi.
Wetangula asked all members of Parliament to submit the list of all their bodyguards and drivers to the national assembly team for vetting.

According to him, the target person of interest might always be around them. He claimed that those close to them might be the ones planning to get rid of them. Surefire, it is important to have a special vetting process that will assure the safety of all the leaders.
Wetangula went on to eulogize Ong’ondo as a dedicated leader who stood for his people at all costs.
He also recalled how Ong’ondo facilitated their stay in Meru county when they visited Mount Kenya region.
” Honorable Ong’ondo was a dedicated man. I knew him from 2013 when he hosted us in Meru. Paid our hotel bills while there and made sure that we were well in all our visits. May his soul rest in peace. ” Said Wetangula.
