Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has broken his silence after questions arose over his absence from a crucial meeting held at State House, Nairobi, earlier today.
Photos shared from the event showed a number of governors in attendance, but Natembeya was notably missing — a detail that quickly sparked discussions among Kenyans online.
In a statement shared through his official platforms, Governor Natembeya clarified that he did not attend the State House meeting because he was overseeing key county projects.
He revealed that he spent the day inspecting ongoing construction works at the Kitale Stadium, a flagship county infrastructure project currently under development.

The governor noted that the inspection was aimed at assessing progress, ensuring adherence to standards, and pushing contractors to maintain the set timelines.
Natembeya also presided over the official launch of the Trans Nzoia County Super Cup, an initiative meant to promote local talent and strengthen youth engagement through sports.
During the launch, he interacted with residents and local leaders, many of whom presented requests for additional development projects across the county.
The governor emphasized that his focus remains on accelerating service delivery and fulfilling his administration’s promises.
He assured residents that major projects, including the stadium construction, will be completed as scheduled to boost sports, recreation, and economic activity in the region.
His explanation appears to have eased concerns among supporters, with many applauding his decision to prioritize urgent county duties over national engagements.
