A video circulating widely on social media has ignited heated debate after a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Member of Parliament was captured threatening to physically assault a voter during a public function.
The incident, which reportedly took place at a community fundraiser, has drawn sharp reactions from Kenyans across the political divide.
According to the footage, leaders had gathered to contribute money for a resident in need when the situation took an unexpected turn. The MP, identified as Bomet East legislator Yegon Richard Kipkemoi, took the microphone to address the crowd.
Moments later, he appeared visibly angered by chants from some attendees shouting “one term,” a phrase commonly used by voters to signal dissatisfaction with an elected leader and an intention not to re-elect them.
