President William Ruto has sent a strong political message to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party as the country gradually gears up for the 2027 General Election.
Speaking in Migori County during the colorful Luo cultural festival, the Head of State addressed ODM leaders and supporters following the passing of the party’s long-time leader, the late Honorable Raila Odinga.
In his address, President Ruto called on the ODM leadership to put its house in order and provide clear direction to its supporters ahead of the next election cycle.
He emphasized that political stability and unity among leaders would be critical in building a strong and inclusive government beyond 2027.
Ruto noted that Raila Odinga had always believed in dialogue and working together for the greater good of the nation.

He stated that the late ODM leader envisioned a Kenya where political differences do not divide the country but instead strengthen democracy through cooperation.
According to the President, that vision should guide ODM as it charts its future without its longtime figurehead.
The President urged ODM leaders to focus on internal cohesion, structured leadership, and a clear development agenda that aligns with the needs of ordinary Kenyans.
He added that a united opposition and government working together would accelerate development, improve service delivery, and promote national cohesion.
Ruto further hinted at the possibility of broader political cooperation in the future, saying Kenya needs leaders who prioritize the country over party interests.
He maintained that his administration remains open to working with like-minded leaders across the political divide to address key challenges facing Kenyans, including the high cost of living, unemployment, and economic growth.
His remarks have already sparked debate within political circles, with analysts interpreting them as an early move to shape alliances ahead of 2027.
The video of the President’s speech has since circulated widely on social media, drawing mixed reactions from ODM supporters and the wider public.
