The director of criminal investigation through a letter sent to the media houses summoned Mr. Philip Aroko. They asked him to present himself to any nearby police station for questioning over the murder of Kasipul member of Parliament Honorable Charles Were Ong’ondo.
A few hours after being Summoned, Aroko appeared with his lawyer Danstan Omari who has made an allegation that has left Kenyans talking online. According to Omari, they are arresting his client to block him from attending funeral service for the late MP in Homa Bay on Friday.
“We have instructions that the reason why Mheshimiwa Aroko is being called to appear is to make him not attend the funeral. Politics of exclusion during funerals will not survive in this country; Mheshimiwa has a right to attend and bury. Anybody who is scared of his popularity, rumour has it that they want to detain him, charge him for murder and deny him bail.” Said Omari.
