Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Senator Edwin Sifuna has finally broken his silence following claims that he is being sponsored by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to divide the party.
The allegations were made a few days ago by Oketch Sella, who claimed that the late Raila Odinga had confided in him that Sifuna was a mole planted within ODM to undermine the party from within.
Speaking during the funeral service of the late Lugari Member of Parliament Honorable Cyrus Jirongo, Sifuna dismissed the accusations, terming them as unfortunate, misleading, and politically motivated.
In a strong address captured on video and widely shared online, the Nairobi Senator questioned why some individuals who were part of ODM when Uhuru Kenyatta supported Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential bid are now turning against him.

Sifuna noted that Uhuru Kenyatta played a key role in backing Raila Odinga during the last general election and accused his critics of rewriting history to suit their current political interests.
In a surprising move, the ODM Secretary General publicly asked former President Uhuru Kenyatta for forgiveness on behalf of ODM members who are now attacking him despite the support he once extended to the party.
He firmly denied claims that he is working to sell out ODM or sabotage its future, insisting that he remains loyal to the party’s ideals and its supporters across the country.
Instead, Sifuna turned the tables on his critics, accusing them of being the real individuals plotting to sell the party for personal gain and political convenience.
Sifuna maintained that he will not relent or be intimidated into silence, adding that ODM must remain strong, united, and focused on fighting for the rights of ordinary Kenyans.
He called for honesty, internal dialogue, and respect within the party, warning that propaganda and character assassination could weaken ODM at a critical time in Kenya’s political journey.
His remarks have sparked mixed reactions among ODM supporters, with many calling for calm as the party navigates growing internal tensions.
