Ruto’s Message To New IG Kanja As Acting Masengeli Heads To Prison

President William Ruto today hosted leaders of various institutions at State House. The function was confirmation of Douglas Kanja as the new inspector general of Police after Japheth Koome reigned. Kanja will be taking over a seat that is currently on fire due to contempt of court by the acting inspector general Masengeli.

Well, while at statehouse. President William Ruto has asked the incoming inspector general of Police Kanja to focus and deliver his mandate. He praised him as a noble man who is going to make sure that the Police service maintain dignity.

“I want to say on behalf of the Government of Kenya and the people of Kenya, Mr. Kanja, congratulations. Your many years of service in the police service and to country counted in your nomination and subsequent appointment.” Said Ruto

“Your dedicated service, your discipline, your commitment to both the National Police Service and to your country have stood out in your long career as a police officer.” Added Ruto.

Well, as Douglas Kanja takes over the leadership of Police service. Masengeli who was acting in the position is heading to prison. He is expected to commence his sentencing tomorrow Friday, September 19.

This is after the appeal Court declined his request to apologize to Judge Lawrence Mugambi. Will he serve his sentence? Let’s wait and see.
