For weeks now, Kenyans have been calling for the removal of Adani from the country. They have been asking those involved with them in cutting deals to drop the idea.
From Jomo Kenyatta International Airport takeover to power deals, the Adani have taken over the energy sector with a massive deal.
Just a few days ago, energy cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi announced a 95 billion deal that will see the Indian based group transform the power sector. Well, the president of the republic of Kenya has opened up on Adani deals.
President William Ruto has claimed that the Adani group is pumping their own resources into the deal given. They will sponsor 95 Billion shillings projects by themselves which is a good thing for Kenya as per the head of State.
He has asked Kenyans to be patient with him as he implements policies that are of great benefits to the whole country. The head of State has also asked those opposing his policies to come up with solutions and not just wail.
“The Adani group are investing Sh95bn in the transmission line. We would have otherwise gone to borrow that money and burden the people of Kenya. We will pay for that transmission line using a wheeling charge that has been negotiated.” Ruto.
