Kenyans online were shocked on October 9, 2025 when KANU Party Chairperson Gideon Moi failed to Present his nomination papers at the IEBC Kabarnet offices for verification and clearance.
Despite his allies camping at Kabarnet market and even stoning the UDA Party candidate motorcade, moi failed to appear.
It later emerged that he was in a meeting with President William Ruto at State House Nairobi. Well, President William Ruto has come out to explain why he did that.
Speaking in Kabarak, Ruto claimed that he needed Gideon Moi at the national Level to help him grow the country from a third world level to the first world level just like Singapore and South Korea. The two countries which had almost the same GDP in 1963.

I’m Working on something big here. We are Kenyans and must agree that the country is not where it is supposed to be now. Our partners like Singapore are way above us and we had the same vision a few days ago. We should ask ourselves, do we need to remain the same or improve to have a stable Country.
With Gideon at Broad Based government, political analysts are claiming it will be very difficult to go against President William Ruto in Riftvalley in the coming election. He is now in Total control of the region.
