The National Police service has finally opened up on a video that has been widely shared online by Kenyans. In the video, a police officer is seen assaulting a Kenyan badly to an extent of stepping on his head while the individual is pleading for mercy.
The seemingly angry police officers is seen not listening to the plea of those with him despite being asked to stop the act. Well, the service has confirmed that a widely-circulated video showing an officer brutally assaulting a defenseless man on the ground depicts an incident from 2018, with the involved officer already disciplined.

In an official statement signed by Director of Corporate Communication Muchiri Nyaga, the Service acknowledged the clip’s resurgence on social media, sparking fresh outrage among Kenyans.
The graphic footage shows a uniformed officer repeatedly kicking and striking a motionless suspect.
NPS clarified the incident was fully investigated seven years ago, with the officer identified and punished.
Specific disciplinary measures were not disclosed.
“We reaffirm our commitment to constitutional policing and human rights,” the statement emphasized.
