
The Kenyan ministry of education has sent a warning to the principals of all public schools. For years, parents have been complaining of extra levies added to the fee structures and others are hidden.
In this case, parents have always been asked to provide money for remedial classes. A package that is not recognized by the ministry and should not be allowed.
According to the letter which has been forwarded to all Subcounty education offices. No parent should be made to pay extra levies in the name of remedial money.

All board members should adhere to the directives given by the ministry or they will be fired through the dissolution of the board. Those found violating the directives will also face the full force of the law.
The ministry has also warned teachers against discriminating students who fail to pay those hidden levies going forward. They should be allowed to participate in all activities without any restrictions. By restricting them, their rights to quality education will be violated.
