The Deputy President of the republic of Kenya has set his record straight on his political future beyond the 2027 general election.
As the 2027 general election succession plan plays out, there were reports that, the second in command might consider running for Tharaka Nithi County gubernatorial seat in the 2027 general election if he will not be picked as running mate by President William Ruto.
Well, while speaking at his home, Tharaka Nithi County, Kindiki made it clear what he wanted and even went ahead to ask residents.

According to Kindiki, he will get involved in the local politics. He has asked residents not to ask him for endorsements going forward. Speaking at his home where he hosted locals, Kindiki’s message was clear, he won’t be involved in the local politics. Meaning, he has ruled out even the possibility of him running for the gubernatorial seat.
This has finally settled the debate of him focusing on regional politics if he will not be picked by President William Ruto for the top seat.
