The meeting between President William Ruto and former President Uhuru Kenyatta has sparked mixed reactions across the country. Many leaders who were hardliners are now softened in their stances.
Previously, Kikuyu member of Parliament, Kimani Ichung’wah was vocal on criticizing former President Uhuru Kenyatta. At one point, he asked him to leave the office if he was unable to run the country. Well, he has issued a statement that has left Kenyans asking questions.
Through his X account, Kimani Ichung’wah has claimed that national Unity is More important than an individual.

He was reacting to President William Ruto’s statement after visiting the former President at his Kiambu home. According to Ruto, his visit was based on discussion about national matters. He also took his time to thank Uhuru for his regional Peace initiatives.
Well, political analysts have viewed the meeting and a regrouping of leaders targeting 2027 general election. President William Ruto has been facing residence from Kenyans after the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He has avoided Mount Kenya region for a while unlike in 2022 where he toured the region on a weekly basis.
