Meru County governor is currently serving as a governor due to court injunction that stopped her removal. The Senate of Kenya voted to uphold Meru MCA’s impeachment. 25 senators agreed with charges leveled against her.
She was accused of abuse of office in her duties. Well, the mentioning of the case is expected to happen on September 17, 2024. She will then know when her fate will be determined.
Mwangaza Perspective.
Kawira Mwangaza is claiming that some politician’s she defeated teemed up to frustrate her vision for the people of Meru. He defence is that they’re planning to impeach her for performing beyond their expectations.
” All this drama is political driven. They don’t want Mama to prosper. I want to tell them, we are not going to respond to them rather our focus is strictly on service delivery. Our people must be given everything we promised them during campaigns.” Said Mwangaza.

Kawira Must Go Protests.
A section of Meru residents are protesting. Police officers used teargas to disperse them in Dramatic ways that some were injured. Police responded to their protests after they blocked the road leading to governor office. Youths vowed to continue protesting until she is removed from office permanently.
Bribery Demand Claims.
Makarena, a Meru politician aligned to Kawira Mwangaza has claimed that some senators are Dems in money. They are allegedly calling Mwangaza demanding for funds to save her.
He has warned Nandi county senator Cherargei to stay away from Meru affairs. He went on to accuse him of sending bribe from Kawira to every now and then. It is not clear if the bribe was offered or any plans were put in place to pay it.
