A sombre mood has engulfed Geteri village in Kisii County following the tragic death of Mr. Josephat Anyona, the Deputy Headteacher of Geteri Primary School, who is reported to have died by suicide under still-unclear circumstances.
The incident, which occurred at his residence, has left family members, colleagues, and learners reeling in shock.
According to initial reports from residents who were first on the scene, Mr. Anyona was found unresponsive early Wednesday morning.
Police officers arrived shortly after and confirmed the death, launching a full investigation to establish the exact cause and events leading up to the tragedy.
Authorities say they are exploring all possible angles as they await the results of a post-mortem examination.
