Former Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has once again set the political arena ablaze following a fiery speech delivered in Mbeere North, Embu County, while campaigning for Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) candidate Hon. Mbui.
Kuria, who previously served as a Cabinet Secretary in President William Ruto’s administration, surprised many after appearing to join chants calling for a one-term presidency.
In a video widely circulated online, Kuria is seen energizing crowds at Siakago with the “one term” slogan—phrasing that has increasingly become a rallying cry among individuals opposed to President Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027.
The move immediately ignited intense debate across social media platforms, with Kenyans expressing mixed reactions over Kuria’s seemingly shifting political stance.

Political commentators argue that Kuria’s actions may signal growing dissatisfaction within factions formerly aligned to Kenya Kwanza.
Despite having been part of the president’s inner circle not long ago, Kuria’s latest remarks suggest a possible realignment as he campaigns for his party’s aspirant in Embu County.
For supporters of the opposition, Kuria’s chant was interpreted as an endorsement of efforts by the emerging United Opposition coalition, which has vowed to mount a fierce challenge against President Ruto in 2027.
Some online commentators speculated that Kuria may be positioning himself for a future partnership with the opposition, given his increasingly confrontational tone toward the administration.
However, a section of Kenya Kwanza supporters dismissed the move as political showmanship, accusing Kuria of capitalizing on public frustrations for personal gain.
As campaigns intensify across the country, Kuria’s latest public appearance adds yet another twist to Kenya’s rapidly evolving political landscape—one that could play a significant role as the nation gears up for a highly competitive 2027 general election.
