A few months ago, Kenyans were pleading with the Vietnamese government to spare the life of Margaret Nduta.
Nduta was arrested at the Vietnamese airport in possession of narcotic drugs. She was allegedly found in possession of cocaine, a claim she issued a statement claiming that she was just given a bag to carry by an individual who disappeared after she was arrested.
She was sentenced to death prompting the Kenyan government to use the diplomacy method to try and save her life. Well, it seems like.

According to a report by NTV Kenya, Nduta’s death sentence has been changed to a life sentence. The Vietnamese Court ruled on Thursday 31, 2025. This is good news for Nduta and her family, they now have an opportunity to fight for justice while she is alive.
This news is coming in just days after the government of Kenya with other organizations managed to secure the release of a Kenyan who was on a death row in Saudi Arabia for close to fourteen years. He arrived back in the country a few days ago and thanked the government of Kenya and the Muslim community for standing with him.
