For years, Odinga has been enjoying massive backing from the Nyanza region which includes Nyamira and Kisii county. Last year, Raila and Ruto received a good number of votes from the region. President Ruto got over one hundred thousand votes while Odinga managed over two hundred thousand votes.
With Matiangi now, it means that the duo will have to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new plan to defeat Matiangi if they are going to work together throughout the broad based government.
