Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is emerging as a man on a missiona political mission that continues to spark heated debate ahead of the 2027 general election. According to political observers, Gachagua’s goal is clear: to ensure President William Ruto, the man he once served as deputy, does not secure re-election.

A viral video circulating online has intensified this discussion after Kericho County Assembly members accused Gachagua of plotting against President Ruto by fueling political divisions.

The MCAs claimed that Gachagua is using Governor Eric Mutai’s impeachment motion as a tool to create tension in Kericho, a region considered one of President Ruto’s strongholds.

In the video, Gachagua is alleged to have said that those accusing leaders of land grabbing in Kericho should direct their concerns to Wamunyoro and leave the people of Kericho, who remain loyal to the Kenya Kwanza government, out of the matter.
