Democracy For The Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Leader, Hon. Cleophas Malalah, has firmly set the record straight on speculations surrounding the upcoming Malava by-election.
Speaking during the official handover of the nomination certificate to the party’s candidate, Edgar Busiega, at the DCP headquarters, Malalah assured party supporters and the public that DCP remains fully committed to contesting and winning the Malava seat.
Addressing media houses, Hon. Malalah dismissed circulating reports suggesting that DCP was withdrawing from the Malava by-election.
He emphasized that such claims are misleading and urged journalists to prioritize accuracy when covering the contest. According to Malalah, the DCP Party is not only in the race but is also the strongest contender poised for victory.
“If there is any opposition party that should consider pulling out of the Malava by-election, then it is certainly not DCP. Our candidate Edgar Busiega represents the will of the people, and we are confident of a resounding win,” stated Malalah.
The Deputy Leader went further to rally supporters across Malava Constituency to remain steadfast in their campaign efforts.
He underscored the importance of grassroots mobilization and encouraged residents to turn out in large numbers on November 27, 2025, the official voting day.

Edgar Busiega, the DCP flagbearer, was presented with his certificate in a symbolic moment that reaffirmed the party’s commitment to democratic participation and citizen-driven leadership.
