Deputy DCP party leader Honorable Cleophas Malalah has explained how former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua can still run for the top seat in the country, or go for any other position he wishes in 2027 general, despite being impeached by both houses.
Last year, Gachagua was thrown out of office by both members of the National Assembly and Senate. His main undoing was tribalism. He was accused of only vouching for Mount Kenya region despite being the second in command for all the people.
In his defence, Gachagua clearly stated that, he loves his people and will do everything to see them united and well developed.

In a motion filled by Kibwezi East member of Parliament, Honorable Mutuse. Gachagua was also accused of interfering with the tender process. This was after he allegedly made a call to the KEMSA officials inquiring about the progress of the tender awarded to accompany associated with one of his sons.
Speaking to the media during an interview with a local station, Malalah claimed they, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is innocent until proven guilty. With his being still innocent and the case still pending at the courts, he has a capacity to run for any seat.
“Democracy for Citizens Party deputy leader Cleophas Malala has said that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua remains qualified to contest any elective office despite the ongoing impeachment process.” Reported K24 TV.
