For a period of time now, there has been a battle of supremacy between Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Interior CS Kithure Kindiki in Mt. Kenya Region. They have been fighting over the kingpin position of the Region as a section of leaders have been supporting Gachagua while others have been backing up Kindiki. Things have been boiling properly and they seem to be getting worse.
That is because in recent days, there have been talks of Kindiki becoming the Deputy President after Gachagua’s impeachment (if it goes through). Those talks have been exciting Kindiki’s supporters in Mt. Kenya Region. They have been feeling like it will be the final nail in Gachagua’s casket but today, the Interior CS and his supporters have been given bad news.

That is because former Bahati legislator Kimani Ngunjiri has broken his silence with a strong advise to President William Ruto. According to Ngunjiri, Ruto should not pick a DP from Mt. Kenya Region if he manages to ouster Gachagua. The former Law Maker maintained that the Region will be peaceful if it doesn’t have anyone at the top because it is the position that has been causing wrangles among the people there.
That means that even CS Kithure Kindiki will not manage to become the next Second in Command if Gachagua goes home. That means that Gachagua and Kindiki’s battle for supremacy will not be settled if President William Ruto listens to Ngunjiri.
In his remarks, Ngunjiri maintained that Ruto can choose a DP from any other region in the country but not just in Mt. Kenya Region.
