Homabay County governor Gladys Wanga has left Kenyans talking after her latest move online. Wanga known for her political combativeness rose to the helm of Homabay County after defeating political heavyweights like Evans Kidero who had vied in Nairobi before and won there before being defeated by Mike Sonko.
She again rose to the helm of the ODM party and is currently holding a powerful party position, the National Chairperson seat. The seat places her at the center of all decisions made by party leader Raila Odinga and one of those key decisions are broad based administration. An agreement they signed a few months ago after deadly protests.

Well, today on June 18,2025. It seems like she was fed up and took an unexpected way to address her grievances. Through her verified social media account, Wanga lamented how people from her County were being assaulted and killed by police officers. She went on to mention names of those she felt were treated unfairly.
Surprisingly, her letter has disappeared from her official handles. It has been deleted. The move has left Kenyans asking questions on whether she was reprimanded for posting it or she decided to remove it under her own decision. She has not addressed the matter, and once she does that, we will keep you posted.
