Climax Bus Management has finally broken its silence days after the tragic road accident that claimed the life of the late Lugari Member of Parliament, Honorable Cyrus Jirongo, along the busy Nakuru–Nairobi highway.
However, instead of offering clarity, the company’s latest statement has sparked fresh questions and intensified public debate over what really happened on the fateful day.
For days, Kenyans have been demanding answers from the bus company, particularly regarding the whereabouts of passengers who were reportedly onboard the Climax bus involved in the accident.
Eyewitness accounts and initial statements from the bus driver suggested that the vehicle was carrying 65 passengers at the time of the crash. This number raised concerns about possible overloading and passenger safety.
In its official statement, Climax Bus Ltd contradicted the driver’s account, insisting that the bus was carrying only 46 passengers. According to the management, all passengers survived the accident and were later rescued by another Climax bus that was returning to Nairobi, allowing them to continue with their journey.
