Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently attending the Jubilee Party National Executive Committee meeting. He is expected to give directions on the way forward of the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Jubilee Party is expected to name Dr. Fred Matiang’i as the party leader and possibly presidential candidate. Matiang’i has been meeting with the other opposition leaders with a mission to defeat President William Ruto in 2027.

According to his official social media platforms, the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is attending a national delegate meeting led by Martha Karua.
Karua is part of the United opposition team and has been seen in meetings with Gachagua, Matiang’i and Kalonzo. Many people are hoping that the opposition will remain United instead of splitting. If they split, this might give President William Ruto a good chance on his re-election bid in the 2027 general election.
