Kirinyaga County governor Ann Waiguru was one of Mount Kenya region leaders who were expected to succeed recently impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as the second in command.
She was seen as an ideal second in command before President William Ruto settled on professor Kindiki as his preferred candidate.
Well, today on November 19, 2024. Ann Waiguru has opened up on the possibility of her retiring from politics after serving Kirinyaga County people.

In a video seen by this writer. Kirinyaga County governor Ann Waiguru set the record straight. She stated that she will not retire from politics after her tenure at the top of Kirinyaga County. She claimed to be having a lot to offer to the country in different capacities.
Her declaration has opened a door for possibilities of another attempt to the Deputy presidency. If she manages that, she will be the first female second in command in the republic of Kenya.
