Government Responds to Claims of Staged Project Launches by President Ruto
The Kenyan government has been compelled to address accusations suggesting that President William Ruto staged project launches by transporting a woman from Embu to Kisii. The claims emerged from social media, where images purportedly showed the same woman at different project sites.
Hussein Mohammed, the Statehouse communication leader, refuted these allegations through a series of clarifying posts on social media. “Do not mislead Kenyans @Dictatorwatch and others,” Mohammed stated. He explained that the photos in question were misrepresented.

According to Mohammed, in Kisii, on August 13, 2024, President Ruto visited the Moraa family in Bonchari Constituency after the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) upgraded their posho mill. The photos, depicting breakfast with the Moraa family, were specifically from this event.

Conversely, in Embu, the President’s visit took place on August 7, 2024, at the home of Mama Lydia, during the commissioning of Last Mile Projects in Cianthia village. This project benefits 171 households, as well as Cianthia Primary and Secondary Schools.
Mohammed’s response aims to correct misinformation and reaffirm the integrity of the President’s development initiatives.
