Tension erupted on Friday during the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) National Governing Council (NGC) meeting held at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) after chaos broke out between rival factions.
Reports indicate that Samburu Executive Secretary Bill Lengoiyap, who was recently reinstated by the Labour Court, was attacked and roughed up by men allegedly linked to KUPPET National Treasurer Akello Misori and MP Omboko Milemba’s security officers. The confrontation left Lengoiyap seriously injured.
Witnesses say the scuffle began moments after Lengoiyap attempted to take his seat in the plenary, prompting security personnel to forcibly eject him. He sustained injuries during the altercation and was later rushed to MP Shah Hospital for treatment.
