Washington, D.C. – A shocking scene unfolded inside the Oval Office on Thursday morning when a top pharmaceutical executive suddenly collapsed in front of former President Donald Trump during a live announcement about a new federal health program, TrumpRx.
The unidentified executive, believed to be a senior representative from Novo Nordisk, fainted midway through the event as Trump was outlining an agreement with drugmakers to lower the cost of popular weight-loss medications, including Wegovy and Zepbound.
According to eyewitnesses, the atmosphere inside the Oval Office quickly turned chaotic as Secret Service agents and medical staff rushed to assist the collapsed official. “He just went down—there was a loud gasp, and within seconds, the room was cleared,” said one reporter who was present before being escorted out.

White House press staff immediately directed security to remove members of the press corps as Trump’s personal physician and paramedics were called to the scene. Reporters were seen hurriedly exiting the West Wing as aides closed off the area. The incident disrupted what had been billed as a “major health systems announcement,” focusing on improving affordability and access to life-saving medications.
The President had moments earlier described the agreements with Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly as “a triumph for American patients.” Under TrumpRx, the companies pledged to slash drug prices—Novo Nordisk offering Wegovy at $149 per month and Lilly reducing the price of Zepbound to $299. The plan also promised that Medicare beneficiaries would pay no more than $50 per month for certain prescriptions.
Following the collapse, Trump’s communications secretary declined to take questions, saying only, “The President’s focus right now is on the health and safety of everyone involved.” No further details were released about the executive’s condition.
The dramatic interruption has since gone viral on social media, with clips showing the moment of panic spreading rapidly across platforms. Health officials have yet to comment on what may have caused the collapse, though some speculate it could have been due to stress or medical complications.
The Oval Office remained closed for the rest of the day as security tightened around the West Wing. Trump’s team said an update on both the TrumpRx program and the executive’s condition will be released “at the appropriate time.”
