Drama as Kalonzo Heckled at Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Event in Nairobi
Former Vice President and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka faced a hostile reception in Nairobi during the launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement headquarters. What began as a calm political gathering turned chaotic when Kalonzo took to the podium to issue a stern warning regarding the opposition’s presidential lineup.
A video now trending across social media platforms captures the moment smooth proceedings took an abrupt turn. While addressing the crowd, Kalonzo pushed back against DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa’s endorsement of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
Kalonzo reminded the attendees that Sifuna is not yet the official presidential candidate, urging the movement to adhere strictly to formal party procedures and upcoming nomination conventions before declaring a flagbearer.

His remarks immediately triggered outrage among the crowd, who responded with loud jeers, booing, and chants of “Sifuna! Sifuna!”
Attempting to regain control, Kalonzo cautioned the audience that internal hostility and premature squabbling would disunite the opposition, ultimately giving President William Ruto an easy victory on the ballot.
He emphasized that without unity and discipline, the opposition’s bid to unseat the current administration would fail.
The warning, however, further agitated the delegates, forcing Senator Edwin Sifuna to step in to restore order. Sifuna appealed to his supporters to remain respectful to visiting leaders and allow Kalonzo to complete his speech.
While Sifuna reassured Kalonzo that the coalition prioritizes consensus over confrontation, the clash highlights growing friction within the opposition as key figures position themselves for the upcoming presidential race.
