Taking the microphone, he asked the residents not to listen to anyone supportinyg President William Ruto. According to him, anyone doing that is betraying the community and should be treated as traitors.
I want to repeat it here, anyone working with President William Ruto from this region is a traitor. He or she must not be listened to. I saw yesterday people using our Ladies in the name of organizing protests so that their Master, Ruto can see and approve they are working. This is not the way to go, all of them will go home in the 2027 general election. They must be prepared to leave immediately. The people will decide. ” Said Gachagua’s in a video shared online.
Gachagua’s Official Statement On His Facebook Page.
Farmers must no longer be suppressed by a government they themselves elected.
When leaders fail to protect the interests of their people, it marks the highest point of government’s failure.
Like any other farmers, rice farmers in Mwea deserve to have their voices heard and their needs prioritized. Their hard work sustains our nation, and it is the duty of their leaders to stand with them.
Today, I had the privilege of engaging with the farmers of Mwea in Kirinyaga County and listening to their concerns. I want to assure you all: we will continue fighting for you and your interests, no matter the obstacles.
Remember the leaders whom you elected—those who stand on your side. When the day of reckoning arrives on 10th August 2027, make the right choice.
