President William Ruto’s personal aide, Farouk Kibet, has issued a stern warning to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party officials ahead of the highly anticipated 2027 General Election, cautioning against alleged plans to manipulate party nominations for personal gain.
Speaking during a public event in the Rift Valley, Kibet appeared visibly frustrated as he addressed growing concerns within the ruling party.
In remarks captured on video and widely shared online, Kibet accused some party insiders of plotting to sell UDA tickets to preferred candidates instead of allowing a fair and democratic process.
Kibet warned that any officials found engaging in such practices would face expulsion from the party.
He stressed that UDA would not tolerate corruption, favoritism, or actions that undermine the will of party members and voters.

“UDA must remain a party of the people,” Kibet said. “Those who think they can impose leaders on wananchi through backdoor deals will be dealt with decisively. The party belongs to the people, not a few individuals.”
He further urged residents to be vigilant and to reject candidates imposed on them by powerful individuals, encouraging voters to support leaders they genuinely believe in rather than those pushed through questionable means.
According to Kibet, credible grassroots leadership is key to sustaining UDA’s dominance and ensuring President Ruto’s development agenda continues beyond 2027.
The warning comes at a time when political temperatures are beginning to rise across the country, with parties quietly preparing for the next electoral cycle. Nomination disputes have historically weakened parties during elections, often leading to defections and internal divisions.
Kibet’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with some UDA supporters praising him for speaking out against internal rot, while others argue that party leadership must go further and put strong systems in place to guarantee transparent nominations.
As the 2027 election draws closer, Kibet’s message signals a tough stance by the President’s inner circle aimed at safeguarding party unity, credibility, and grassroots democracy within UDA.
