During former US President Joe Biden’s era, President William Ruto was a close ally of Biden and the US at large. Ruto made several trips to the US as the two leaders worked on improving the relationship between the two countries.
That good relationship between USA and Kenya meant that Kenya benefitted more as the African country received goodies from their rich friend but just weeks after Biden going home, Ruto has been left helpless by Biden’s successor.
As reported by the Nation through their official Telegram page, US President Donald Trump has now decided to halt the country’s support to Haiti security mission. Considering the fact that it was President William Ruto’s Kenya who were on the forefront of the security mission in Haiti, that is a blow to Ruto as he now will have to seek funding from elsewhere in order to keep the Kenya police comfortable in Haiti.
