The country continues to mourn the untimely passing of celebrated Kikuyu gospel musician Betty Bayo, who succumbed to leukemia a few days ago. The singer, known for her uplifting gospel hits that inspired millions across Kenya, had reportedly been in and out of hospital as her condition worsened.
According to her family, Betty Bayo’s health had deteriorated in the weeks leading to her death. On the fateful day, she is said to have suddenly fallen ill at her home, prompting family members to rush her to a nearby hospital along Kiambu Road.
Doctors later referred her to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she tragically lost her life while receiving specialized treatment.
