Tranzoia County Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have finally broken their silence over their recent meeting with President William Ruto at the Eldoret State Lodge, following widespread speculation that the visit was linked to a possible impeachment plot against Governor George Natembeya.
A few days earlier, the MCAs had paid a courtesy call to Governor Natembeya, where they discussed critical issues affecting Trans Nzoia County, including service delivery, development priorities, and areas of collaboration between the County Assembly and the executive arm of the county government.
The meeting was largely viewed as a show of unity aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
However, political temperatures rose when the same MCAs later met President Ruto in Eldoret.
The back-to-back meetings sparked intense speculation among residents and political observers, with claims emerging that the legislators were seeking backing from the Head of State to impeach Governor Natembeya.
In a joint clarification, the MCAs dismissed the impeachment claims, insisting that their visit to President Ruto was purely development-focused.
According to the MCAs, the Eldoret meeting was aimed at lobbying for national government support on stalled and upcoming projects across all constituencies in Trans Nzoia County.

Water Projects:
Top on the agenda were the Kiptogot–Kolongolo water project (last mile connectivity), the Mosongo water project—already allocated KSh 750 million—and the Kabolet–Kitale Town Phase Two project. President Ruto directed that some of these be implemented in collaboration with the county government.
