Today on Thursday 15, 2025, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was expected to launch his political party. A party that he is planning to use in the running for the top seat in the 2027 general election.
Well, as people gathered to celebrate with him, armed Police officers stormed the event with the aim of containing the situation after a section of the crowd became violent.
From the video seen by us, Kenyans who had attended the event were forced to scamper for safety in different directions. The determined police officer is seen pointing the gun in the Air before firing several shots to disperse Gachagua’s followers.

A section of Kenyans online have condemned the action by the police terming it as excessive use for force which was unnecessary.
Well, Gachagua has gone ahead to appoint key officials to his party. Kakamega County Senator Cleophas Wakhungu Malalah has been appointed Deputy party leader while former Cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi has been appointed National organizing secretary.
In his message to his supporters, Gachagua has maintained that his party will not offer direct tickets to those planning to vie. They will have to win them In a competitive way.
