Ruto Told The Only Way He Can Deal With Adani And Win Kenyans Hearts

The Adani deal. The deal that has turned all Kenyans into financial analysts at the moment with vast knowledge in business management.

In every corner of the country where three people are meeting, one group is discussing about the lease of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Adani group. The tension is above board with leaders sending strong message to the President.

The cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport was at pain explaining to Kenyans how Adani deal was sourced and who brought it. In a meeting with senators, he was tasked with elaborating how Adani group was the only suitable company for the proposal.

Well, speaking at the Senate committee. Orange democratic Party secretary general Edwin Sifuna sent a clear message to Ruto.

According to him, the only way the head of State can deal with Adani is dripping the deal in totality. He claimed that, Kenyans are angry with the deal just like finance bill 2024.

“We are asking the president to drop this deal. It is toxic just like finance bill 2024. Kenyans are angry and are watching closely. We don’t want to things to get to where we were few months ago. It is not worth it at all. The only way to win the hearts of Kenyans is by dripping it President.” Said Edwin Sifuna.

President William Ruto is currently in Germany on a two day State visit. His aim was to sign an agreement between Kenya and Germany for the export of skilled labor. He claimed that Kenya has capacity to supply workers to foreign countries since there are so many people with skills but no jobs.

What Is In Adani Deal?

The Indian owned company presented a private deal to the government for the leasing of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. according to them, they will build another runway and renovate Othe facilities.

They will spend 1.8 million dollars on the deal and manage the airport for 30 years. Then, they will retain 18% shares in the airport for life.

Addition to that. Kenyan government is not allowed to built any airport within a radius of 150km that can compete with Adani deal. This proposal has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans who are not happy with the deal at all.
