President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza leadership are in the United States of America. The President is attending the UNGA summit that is expected to kick-off anytime.
While there, he has received unexpected news from his political brother and Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga who has left many Kenyans shocked after his declaration today in Machakos County.
Speaking during the Orange democratic Party parliamentary group meeting. Odinga claimed that the party has not made any resolutions on who it will be supported in the 2027 general election.

He continued by saying that, it was unfortunate to witness some members declaring support for Ruto in the 2027 general election before the clear decision was made by the party. His mission was only to Join hands and stabilize the country when youths took to the streets burning the parliament and other government installations.
Let me be clear. The orange democratic Party has not settled on anyone as its preferred Presidential Candidate in the 2027 general election. Those shouting should stop and wait for the official communication.
We will make that decision soon. For now, we only joined President William Ruto to help him stabilize the country. Going forward, we will decide what will happen in 2027 general election. People should stay put.” Said Raila Odinga while In Machakos County.
With Raila’s declaration. This is a blow to President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza leadership. They will have to figure out what will happen if Raila fails to back Ruto’s re-election bid.
Many Kenyans are watching keenly as things unfold. The opposition team which is being led by leaders like former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, wiper party leader Honorable Kalonzo Musyoka and Wamalwa together with Matiang’i are strategizing on how to remove Ruto in 2027 general election. It is going to be interesting to see how things will Play out.
