President of the republic of Kenya His Excellency William Ruto has been enjoying the support of the Orange democratic Party.
After signing an agreement with the late ODM party leader Honorable Raila Odinga, Ruto moved forward to appoint his people to the Cabinet. This was meant to give him an amble time to rule Kenya.

According to Sifuna, the resolution by the Orange democratic Party after a meeting held on October 27, 2025, is that the party will continue to have a working relationship with the government until 2027. From there, the Kenya Kwanza administration will be on their own.
This is an indication that President William Ruto and his team will have to go back to the drawing board and make a plan to win over the Votes from the opposition strongholds without having the support of ODM if they decide to move out of the broad based arrangements.
During his last meeting with the party in Machakos. The late Raila Odinga claimed that the party was going to have a presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.
He personally asked his party members to stop making declarations concerning the party position on supporting the President when the final decision is not made by the national executive committee.
