Wiper Party leader Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday made a grand entry into Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County, as he led a large delegation to pay his last respects to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.
Kalonzo, who arrived flanked by hundreds of supporters and symbolic cows, was warmly received by Mama Ida Odinga and the Odinga family in what many described as a moving show of unity and respect.
Kalonzo, who stood beside Raila in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections, was hailed for his loyalty and consistency in the Azimio coalition.
His gesture of bringing livestock as a traditional token of respect touched many Kenyans, who flooded social media with messages praising his humility and Mama Ida’s gracious hospitality.
However, it was Ruth Odinga’s statement following Kalonzo’s visit that has since left Kenyans talking.

The former Kisumu Deputy Governor and Raila’s younger sister delivered a powerful message emphasizing unity within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the enduring spirit of her late brother’s political vision.
“It takes a warrior to recognize one,” Ruth began in her moving address. “Today, I was honoured to welcome the Wiper Party Leader, H.E. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, to Opoda Farm as he came to pay his last respects to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, a man with whom he stood side by side in three different elections.”
She lauded Kalonzo for his commitment to Kenya’s democratic journey, adding that his visit was a “true testament that their bond went far beyond politics.” Ruth went on to assure ODM supporters that the party remains united and unshaken despite the void left by Raila’s passing.
“As a founding member of the ODM Party, I want to assure our supporters across the country that ODM remains resolute. This is a party by the people, for the people. ODM is not for sale — we cannot, and will not be bought,” she affirmed.
Her remarks, seen by many as a firm defense of ODM’s independence and integrity ahead of the 2027 general elections, have stirred national debate, with supporters praising her boldness and leadership at a time of political transition within the Raila Odinga legacy.
